Soviet Russia was a bully and tried to destroy the language, the people and the culutre in Lithuania. Fat lot of good that did, oh those silly commies.

There's a modern art museum opening that I should probably check out.

Triumph.

It was like I was sent there already,

I could smell the ground and the people,

Even the air smelled different for a brief moment,

Foreign and exotic.

Everything around me gained a new intoxication.

I could taste the sky and the music,

Sweet and salty, tangy and smooth.

Within my stomach I felt the tingling sensation

Of excitement simmer

It hissed and purred as I realized that it came true.

Have you ever felt the courage of yes?

It is so unlike the shattering disappointment of no.

This courage dances around me,

Sending vibrations through the air,

Making those around me turn their heads in wonder.

What made this heart change?

What made this person take action?

It was a simple yes instead of a no.

Today I found out that I am going to Lithuania. I am so ready for this.  

What is Lithuania?

A step into something unprepared for,

A leap into the life far off dreamed,

An acceptance of fate’s decision,

An attempt to carve a new identity,

A prayer for the best,

An escape from regrets too complicated,

A wish for a better life,

A promise to follow,

A fear of a thoughtless decision,
